Insulation contractor in Visalia, sealing before we insulate

Spray foam insulation covers the roof underside in an attic with exposed wooden rafters and floor joists.

Why I started an insulation business for lived-in homes

I learned this trade insulating new houses while they were going up, when every wall stood open and every gap was easy to reach. Lived-in homes are harder because old insulation, wiring, ducts and stored boxes are in the way, and I wanted to do that work carefully, so I started EnergyFit Visalia Insulation Solutions here in Visalia in 2023.

What I care about most is doing things in the right order, because insulation laid over open leaks or a damp spot hides the problem instead of fixing it. We're best known for attic and crawl space work done in that order and checked against the plan, and I'd rather tell you a job should wait than do it out of order. Homeowners call us when rooms won't stay comfortable, and property managers and business owners call when a building needs insulation planned around other work. We're based in Visalia and work across the cities around it, from Kingsburg and Selma to Hanford, Lemoore and Woodlake, and if your city isn't on the site, call and ask.

What you can count on from us

Most insulation work disappears once it's done, so these are the things you'll see from us before it does.

Leaks sealed before insulation goes in

We start with air sealing, closing the gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch, so the new insulation isn't fighting a draft. That's how the comfort you pay for actually reaches your rooms.

An estimate you can compare line by line

Your estimate comes in writing, with photos of what we found and each step listed in the order we'll do it. You can set it next to another bid and see exactly what each one includes.

Other trades' problems named, not buried

If we find a damp spot, a wiring problem or ductwork that needs repair, we tell you plainly which trade it belongs to. Then we plan our work around that fix instead of covering it with fresh insulation.

How a job goes with us

The price usually turns on what's already in your attic or crawl space, how much of it has to come out and how many gaps need sealing. The schedule turns on that same cleanup, plus any permit or other trade involved, and your estimate is where you get the figures for your house.

  1. Call or send us the form

Call (559) 409-1169 or use our contact form to tell us what's bothering you, whether it's a hot room upstairs, cold floors or a power bill that keeps climbing. We reply within one business day to set a time to come out.

  2. I look first, then write it up

I come out myself and check how many inches are already up there, whether any of it is soaked or full of droppings, and whether the eave vents, the openings along the roof edge that let the attic breathe, are clear. The estimate is free with no obligation, and nothing gets priced until I've seen it.

  3. We settle the permit question

Before work starts we check with the city or county office that covers your address, and in Visalia the city's building safety office issues permits only to property owners or state-licensed contractors. California requires a contractor's license when a job needs a permit, uses hired workers or runs $1,000 or more in labor and materials, so when a permit is needed we apply as your licensed and insured contractor and meet the inspector on site.

  4. The crew works, then I check it

Our trained installers clear what has to go, seal the gaps and then insulate, keeping coverage as full at the edges as it is in the middle. Before we call it finished I check the work against your estimate, with satisfaction guaranteed on every job.
